When, if ever, change a golf swing that has been successful? In developing a successful swing you have recorded a mental picture in your mind of the exact motion of the club from the start of the swing to the follow through of your body. To be able to picture that swing is what gives you your confident winning shot. This confidence will carry through to all other aspects of your game. Inconsistent golf scores even from the professionals and good amateurs with classic swings prove the fact that there is more to golf than having the perfect swing or putting stroke. So perhaps we should ask why a previously successful swing would suddenly go wrong. The answer is that mental inconsistency causes physical inconsistencies. So only when you feel happy and confident about changing a swing can the change prove effective. Changing your swing takes courage and hard work to gain confidence with a new swing. So, just as you have to work hard at your game of golf, so too do you need to work hard at maintaining a positive, confident mental state.
